The Yacht Club at East Hampton Point:
Expect Ibiza in Long Island by way of the Koch brothers who have built their name throwing over-the-top day-time brunch (a.k.a. drinking) parties at Merkato 55, Revel, Downtown Cipriani’s Upstairs space, and at Southampton’s now defunct Pink Elephant. Located on a glistening yacht, the party gets going around noon and it doesn’t take long for the multi-level space to get claustrophobically packed with 20- and 30-somethings looking for fun, sun, liquid lunch...and straight-up debauchery (or at least as much debauchery as one would expect given the Three Mile Harbor location…this isn’t Neptunes after all). You’d never know we were mid-recession with the amount of scantily-clad socialites drunkenly downing three-figure-priced vodka and champagne straight from the bottle. Break out your nautical themed pashmina afghans and your flippy-floppies (so long as they’re designer), and get on this boat!
