Traffic Restaurant and Bar:
Oh, another bar in Midtown East filled with suits and sports? Don’t U-turn too fast. This 3,500-square foot space is sports fanatic’s paradise with 20-plus TVs displaying everything from baseball to bowling (though we’re not quite sure who requested that one). What sets Traffic Bar apart from the generic frat bars that dominate the area is the better-than-average bar food and incredibly friendly service. And the traffic light that looms next to the bar? What seems like a cheesy bit of flair actually serves a purpose—when the light turns green (as it often seems to be), it’s go-time for deals like half off their signature “Yellow Light” made with Crop Organic Cucumber vodka and lemonade. For those not interested in stopping by for sports, come post-game when the lights dim and DJs offer up the kind of jams no one complains about.
Went after work one night from L.I. with group from my office - men and women. Great surroundings, great food, super friendly service as well as a very friendly atmosphere. Everyone raved about the bar food and the cocktails were delicious. Love the second floor overlooking Second Avenue. We went on a Tuesday and it wound up being a very pleasant early evening to get together for drinks and chatter.
