Trix:
This neighborhood cocktail lair and resto boasts innovative cocktails and a tasty menu of locally sourced dishes, but the true allure lies in the décor. The laid-back spot’s interior was designed by renowned Queens artist, James Johnson, who pays homage to the 1980s-era Williamsburg GoGo lounge, Belinda's, with lascivious details like vibrant paintings of abstracted topless dancers (hubba, hubba!). Fittingly, the long list of cocktails ($12) includes a signature Trix (muddled white and red grapes, bar sol pisco and lime juice shaken with chardonnay) that comes served in a kitschy glass painted with a pole dancer. A casual, carnal atmosphere, campy music (think “When a Man Loves a Woman”), mismatched furniture and endlessly ogle-worthy décor details make Trix perfect for unwinding after a long day at an uptight workplace or grabbing a bite with an open-minded pal.
