Turkey's Nest:
A townie bar grows in Brooklyn at Turkey’s Nest, where a 32-oz. glass of Bud or Coors Light is served in a Styrofoam cup for $4.00, and the Quick Draw lotto games draw as much attention as the sports airing on the TVs. The décor is a cross between a pizza parlor and the basement of your best friend’s house in junior high (wood-paneled walls, darts, pool table, beer mirrors). There are also arcade games (there's a cult following for "Silverstrike Bowling"), and a hypnotic new-school jukebox holds your attention should your stupor not. The crowd is cool and features a mixture of old school working class to mama's boy hipsters, all of them there to "gobble" on this Turkey's famously big beers. Its location across from McCarren Park makes it a defacto home to the popular softball and kickball leagues, and ensuring it'll never suffer from empty Nest syndrome.
