Tzigan: Now: GUNBAR
If you’ve ever wondered what King Midas’ living room looked like, get ready for Tzigan, the underground lounge of Meatpacking powerhouse Villa Pacri. Though the name means "gypsy," you can check any negative connotations of the word at the door, er stairway—here, furniture looks like precious metals, the music is upbeat, the well-dressed crowd spans the age spectrum, and alcohol is free flowing though certainly not free. Bottle service starts at $350, well-crafted cocktails will run you $17 to $22 and VIPs can even store their luxury spirits in crystal carafes behind the bar (which are "priceless," a.k.a. too expensive to list the price). Stick with their signature drink comprised of whiskey, strawberry, maple syrup and Frangelico, or go for the popular “Latin Lover” made with gin, vermouth, passion fruit, orange, berries and Aranciata Pellegrino. After a few of those and a spin around the dance floor, you'll be embracing the traditional gypsy party spirit, if not your bill.
