Soothing lights. Aromatherapy. Feng Shui. These items are de rigueur at spas all over town. But at a velvet-roped nightclub? Who knew? According to owner Tommy Tardie (of Fuelray fame), Ultra is designed to tempt all of the senses. The space is clean, understated, and chic. Black and white films flash silently on the wall while the crowd grooves to a mix of '80s and hip-hop. The VIP section is a raised platform in the back, the “tree house,” from which you and a couple dozen of your friends can look down on the hoi polloi.
Okay...so it was not my Birthday...I was not going to a bachelorette party...I just wanted a night out with my girls!!! It's rare that all of my friends can get together on the same night so I am a nightclub snob. I had better have a good time, or else. With my overly extreme expectations... I was pleasantly suprised by Ultra! I bought a table and was treated like a princess all night. The cocktail waitresses are cute and sassy, and I am not going to lie...I had fun watching the porters all night. Plus...there were real life good looking guys there as well...ahha..what more can a girl ask for??? Oh...I WILL be going back ;)

I went to Ultra for the first time ever last week....and I have to say I'm impressed. Some guy I work with had his birthday there and I was kind of skeptical at first because I've never heard of the promoter, but they really came through in the clutch. It really helps when the B-Day boy starts the night off with 3 bottles, but even without it, the place was banging! After going there, I've got two reccommendations: Ultra is a great "upscale" time and those guys from "theblaqlist" can throw some party

I went to Ultra for my birthday and all i can say is " what a night". The service was great,I had no problems setting up my night with my table and all my guest. Everyone got in swiftly and had no problems. The DJ was good, pretty much the same as all other hot spots in NYC like butter, marquees, kiss n fly, a nice mix of pop, rock ,80s and a little bit of hip hop. In all it was a great night. I def suggest going.

I've been to ULTRA before as part of a private party in the lower VIP area. The service was incredible- responding to things before you even realized they needed attention. The VIP had even had a mini bar with snacks and drinks, like a hotel... So cool.
A couple of weeks ago I did however get to see the other side of attending ULTRA- nothing special going on.. just popped in on a random Saturday night. We had so much fun dancing the night away to the wide mix of music the DJs offered- the door was no hassle and still were able to have a great experience, even without the bottle service!

I spoke with the event staff at this place to set something up for my friend's 21st birthday. After setting up a list at the door, he promised me that my party of 20 would not have to wait in line and would have no problems getting in. Well...when we got there, there was no list under my friend's name and the door staff was just flat out rude, not allowing us to get in at all! We ended up going to Tonic in Times Square and had an amazing time--no wait, no cover, great music. As for Ultra, what an Ultra disaster...I'll never attempt to go there again!

My girlfriends brought me here for the classy night of my bachelorette weekend. The space is very pretty and gorgeous with the lighting. We were escorted to the VIP room with our own minibar and my favorite part--our own badass bouncer who was such a sweetheart.
I was ecstatic to be in a place where the music rocked for once and we had such a blast dancing, scouting the floor, bringing in men to join our party and kicking them out as we pleased. The crowd was neither the best nor the worst and that is all you can ask for at a club. It was the perfect place to go with a bunch of hot fun friends and especially with them being fabulous sexy ladies.
The staff left nothing to be desired. Everyone was so sweet and attentive-especially Steve, who even gave some of us a ride home at the end of the night. Now that is service.

My friends and I had the most amazing time at ULTRA this past weekend! The space is so unique, you can't believe you are in a NYC nightclub. There was no fuss at the door, the service was quick and efficient, and the music rocked all night long. I can't wait to go back. I am a huge fan of this night spot and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great time!

We threw my boyfriend's birthday party at Ultra this past weekend. I must say, while I was impressed with the space, I found the service to be pretty below standard. We were told that we would be given "a bunch of tables" for our guests and that we would be escorted in. When we arrived at Ultra, we had to wait outside for at least 15-20 mins. We then went in, checked our coats.....And waited some more. There was nobody to tell us where to go, so I finally had to grab Tommy (the owner, who had been helping me plan the party for months; thus I anticipated a much more organized situation). Tommy led us inside, asking me if we would possibly be ordering bottles. I informed him that we wouldn't be, since he and I had previously negotiated a 3 hour open bar. Apparently we weren't good enough for the "bunch of tables" we had been promised, b/c after declining bottle service, we were shown to one corner table. We had 60+ people and they only gave us seating for maybe 8! (Mind you, there was an entire empty section behind us for the whole night. Considering how many people we brought there, we could have had those seats). Also, our waitress brought out the cake for a split second, then took it away before we could sing "Happy Birthday". She brought out a few slices, then didn't come back for most of the night. Upon leaving, I asked if there was any cake left, since I had custom ordered it and wanted to bring it home. She returned with it later; more then half the cake was left. She should have asked if we wanted the remainder served to our guests.
Bottom line: Ultra is aesthetically gorgeous, but the service & attitude of the place suck. We were highly disappointed in the lack of orginization.
If you're going there to meet guys or chicks- don't bother. Hate to sound arrogant but our group was, BY FAR, the most attractive bunch there.

Having grown up in the NYC, I always try to find clubs that have that pretencious feel, but without being pretencious. I've been to Ultra 4 times already, I can say it's my favorite club!! You don't have to deal with door issues, but still feel VERY exclusive when you're inside!! The bartender's martinis were AMAZING!! Have your bday party there if you could!!! The servers are really hot too...

Last Saturday my girlfriends and I had a joint party at ULTRA and it was fabulous! We went with one of their "packages" and it was perfect. All my guests got in without any issues (which was most important to me) and we had an absolutely incredible time. The space if gorgeous, the crowd was great and the music was the amazing. I don't know who the DJ was but he kept us on our feet all night long. Thank you Ultra!!

A refreshing new space, with amazing lighting, awesome DJs, and delicious cocktails. We had a table in the VIP Tree house... we got our own mini bar and our table overlooked the whole venue. We also had control over the lighting and sound!!! I must say I was impressed with the staff, although the place was packed all night... the drinks arrived in under 5 minutes throughout the whole night. So if you're sick of the west Chelsea scene, check out Ultra...I highly recommend it!!

Lame Vibes. Not much at all to back up the pretty cool ambiance, and so sadly- a bad DJ. A Frat Party meets a Single Night crowd gone wrong. If you're gonna talk this place up as it should be, anyone knows that a kick ass DJ is key. Leave the poor volume control and train wrecks to the dive bars. Secondly, get a promoter who knows what he's doing.
