Uptown Lounge:
With its scented candles, stone floors, strategically placed plants, and purple walls, Uptown Restaurant & Lounge is one sleek place to grab a beer. Neighborhood women take refuge from the Upper East Side’s testosterone-infused nightlife scene in this softly lit haven, where they gather with their girlfriends in cushy booths sipping fruity martinis like the Remedy—Level vodka, Bacardi Coco, banana liqueur, and pineapple juice. Food is not cheap—think entrées for no less than $19—but drink specials are reasonable. Martinis go for $6 daily until 8pm and all night on Wednesdays, while Tuesdays promise $5 wine.
Just to comment on Liz's idiotic ramblings. I've been going to Uptown for years and Mark is a diehard Yankees fan and one of the most knowledgeble sports fans around, as well as a great bartender. This girl was either mad because she didn't get the "attention" from him that she wanted or because she's just not that bright. Either way Uptown is known as a Yankee bar and on another note always has a lot of hot girls to look at. Get a life Liz. Go Yankees!

This place is fun to grab a drink with friends and chat over cocktails. I also come here for brunch once in a while and it's great! p.s. the bartender is hot...and he can do whatever he wants with the remote ;o)

Don't think about watching the Yankees play there. Bartender Mark will change the game while you are 2 hours into the game and decides he wants to cater to a regular cutomer who wants to watch the mets werent even playing HOME and on RAIN delay ? He wanted more from the Regular if you get what I mean ! Dont treat cutomers having a great time and lie about why you had to switch channels on table that had no interest in the game what so ever. Do you uhooking up after the bar is closed Mark ! Food is okay but watch out for weak drinks served by Mark.
