Ventanas: Another day, another Chelsea tapas joint...and that isn’t necessarily a complaint considering Ventanas’s sizeable lantern-lit lounge, sunken dining room and sexy (yet confusingly Moroccan) vibe. Located under the High Line, the new venue serves albondigas (meatballs, $12) to tourists, while scenesters happy to be near the Meatpacking District sip the Uva Luna (gin, prosecco, muddled chardonnay grapes and white grape juice, $16). Sure, the chorizo costs more here than at nearby locations, but as belly dancers shimmy by your pillow-strewn banquette and the weekend DJ cranks up the beats, you can easily chalk it up to the price of entertainment. If your date would rather pinch pennies, swing by during the 4pm-7pm happy hour when beer, mojitos, caipirinhas, sangria and several varieties of wine are only $5-7. Then ditch him for another sexy single, because hey—another day, another date in Chelsea.
