Vero Wine Bar (Midtown):
Vero added a spice of class to midtown when they opened a sister restaurant about 20 blocks down from the original UES location. This cozy corner wine bar is a breath of fresh air from the crowded pubs and dingy sports bars that crowd the area, offering an astounding collection of reds, whites and champagne instead of the usual six beers on tap. Those not in the mood for wine will find their craving in an extensive specialty drink list; keep it simple with a pitcher of sexy sangria or try their more exotic concoctions, like a stawberry basil lemonade. To satisfy your food craving, nibble the veal meatballs or saffron arancini. You’ll never view midtown the same again. Open Mon.-Fri., 4pm-2am, Sat.-Sun., 12pm-2am.
We were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful wine list- and the sommelier Storme- was knowlable and also Georgous to look at. Imagine a Fellow TEXAN in New York City- and we just happened to find her. Atmosphere was classic, and conversation plus a good glass of wine was enjoyed by all. Six of us Texans-give Vero in Midtown, a great review!

Im a sports bar type of guy, but I went to Vero with my wife for a change of pace. The atmosphere, the food, the top of the line liquor, and the many choices of wines are incredible. If you just want to go somewhere to relax sit and chat with friends or start a romantic evening with that special someone, I highly recommend it.
