Via Tribunali: Stepping inside this LES pizzeria is like being transported to a traditional hole-in-the-wall in the homeland of pizza, Naples. Hints of Italian authenticity are everywhere, from the stacked San Marzano tomato tins to the Mt. Vesuvius brick oven in the kitchen. Even the pizzaioli are imported from the motherland! But contrary to appearances, the charming, if slightly cramped space, is actually an outpost of the popular Seattle-based mini chain. It’s both romantic and cave-like, as dim lighting glows from glass light fixtures and ornamental candle holders attached to the brick walls. The pizzas (pizzas, $10-17; calzones, $16-18), with their thinly stretched bases and lightly charred crusts, are the perfect partners for the lengthy wine list that boasts bottles ranging from $22-$400. Beer enthusiasts are also catered to, as Via Tribunali offers both local brews (Six Point Sweet Action, $6) and Italian imports (Peroni, $6). We predict that after tasting these LES pies, no one will be looking to say arrivederci to Via Tribunali!
