Villa Pacri: Okay, okay, we admit it, when we first heard about the multilevel venue heading into the former Merkato 55 space, we cringed at the idea of five floors of Meatpacking madness. Fortunately, the folks behind Villa Pacri (which includes a long line of A-listers in the nightlife industry) are making sure that this one-stop-shop supersedes our expectations. Styled after an Italian villa, each floor of the space will have its own unique vibe but will be unified by an overarching theme of Mediterranean comfort and luxury. The newly opened ground level features a gourmet market and a café, La Gazzetta, which promises an extensive wine list and elevated casual fare. Eventually the Villa will expand to include a more formal restaurant, a roof deck (due next summer) and an underground lounge, Tzigan (late August). With so much to keep us entertained, it sounds like the owners have created the ultimate staycation and we look forward to checking in, er, checking it out. |
