Village Pourhouse Upper West Side:
With pub food, 25-cent wings, and an event called “Beertopia,” Village Pourhouse knows what college kids want. The blueprint works so well at the East Village outpost, Michael Sinensky and Sean McGarr opened a second location uptown, again with more than 100 beers and 20 HDTVs. Divided into several themed rooms—the front room features stained glass and a solid oak bar, the "Dugout" is a 20-person private room with three self-service draughts, the solarium-style "Vegas Room" holds 50 and has a private garden and a fireplace, and the "Red Light" also holds 50 and has a 30-foot bar. If this place doesn’t inspire Columbia students to try Animal House-worthy antics, we don’t know what will.
Went there on 12/13/08 for their xmas party-- 2 hours of free booze, free food, and live entertainment. If they manage to continue showing their appreciation for their customers, then this place is going to do good business. I also liked the layout of this location better than their LES bar.

I love this new place- UWS can be somewhat without large, fun bars- this is a welcomed addition.
