With so many Asian-fusion restaurants lurking around Midtown, it’s hard to know which (if any) are worth checking out. Don’t worry, we can help—Walle is worth your while. This super-mod venue boasts a posh interior (complete with blue LED lights) and outdoor seating (in Midtown—gasp!), as well as a hyper-attentive staff (a bit too hyper, in instances…beware!). For both wining and dining, there are options aplenty. Small plates like their bacon-and-pork-stuffed baby spring rolls ($8) may just be enough to re-sell you on the oft-abused institution of Asian-fusion tapas. Early evening or late-night, staple cocktails like the Lychee-tini ($8) are set to satisfy—so much so that you may not realize how many you’ve knocked back until you stumble out long after dark. Lucky for you, this place hasn’t picked up too much of a following yet, so if you want a quiet night in Midtown sans velvet ropes or Irish pubs, this could be your new go-to spot.
