You might be disappointed if you come to Prospect Heights' new addition, Washington Commons, if you're expecting a bonafide beer garden. Although the bar may still be a bit bare at this point, the outdoor garden area (currently undergoing renovations) still gives you plenty of opportunities to sip in the sunshine. There's more of a casual neighborhood, block party feel than the drunken shenanigans you'd expect from a typical beer garden. This place is an ideal spot for low-key day drinking. After sampling from the 16 drafts, ranging from Arcadia London Porter ($6) to Sly Fox Panacea Barleywine ($5) and Weihenstephan Hefeweiss ($7), your spirits are bound to perk up. Throw in the fact that all drinks are $2 off from 3 p.m.- 8 p.m., and you're good to go. Open daily 3 p.m. - 4 a.m.
