If West were ten steps west of where it is, they’d have to call it wet. Sitting just off of the Hudson River, this minimal-sleek lounge offers 10-beers on tap ($5-$6), good service, and soft lighting that flatters their all-comers crowd. Whether this is a quick stop or a destination spot depends on what you’re looking for as this DJ simply plays straight CDs with no cuts, breaks, or mixes and the door is indiscriminating. Sitting dangerously close to the Jersey inroads, it would be easy for West to go south but they’ve managed to maintain the high road. Stop by and catch a scenic sunset over the Hudson that will make you forget that the beautifully lit magical land across the water is Hoboken.
Although this place has the potential to be overly swanky, it exists on the fine line between subtle and over the top. Even though the local isnt the best, this place is the perfect place to travel to if you want to sip a nice cocktail and listen to some great music. My girlfriends and I had a great time, even if we were the only ones dancing!
