West 3rd Common:
For a bar so close to NYU, it's nice to see West 3rd Common didn't skip class. Dan Warren's follow-up to Common Ground, West 3rd Common gets passing marks for a cocktail-and-cuisine combination perfect for its NYU-centric location. The decor is, well, common: Exposed brick, red suede banquettes and an antique feel give the place a touch of dive while offering a large area to celebrate passing chem lab (You did pass, right?) Just be careful not to get too tipsy, because Common serves a burger ($11) that even professors will annoint with high grades. Repaying your student loans instead of blowing them? Commoners will want to bone up on the happy-hour specials, as $3 drafts and $4 wells guarantee you won't leave this place without the sweet, lingering taste of Silk Panties...Martini (Ketel One, Peach Schnapps, up with an orange twist). Class dismissed!
I came to this place by accident, but man was I happy we did. We sat around, played Taboo, and drank $3 Abita Turbo Dogs all evening. It was fantastic!!! The Duck and Pork Sliders are to die for. A+++ West 3rd Common!!!

Darren says:
Burger Man
I heard this place has one of the best burgers in New York, so, of course, I had to give it try. Boy was I impressed. The server gave me some story about how they steam the burgers and they come out well done. I've never ordered a burger well done in my life, so I was a bit sceptical. But, in fact, it was juicy and delicious, and I highly recommend it to everyone.
