Whiskey @ W Hotel- Times Square:
The Whiskey sits underneath the W Hotel Times Square and like its brethren, strives to create the aura of exclusivity and swank. This incarnation is a disco/mod nightclub (colored circles light up the entrance’s floor) where beautiful people go to burst their eardrums listening to seriously LOUD Top 40. Cocktails and martinis are mixed to perfection, even if the service is a little slow. (We wouldn’t want the beautiful staff to break a sweat.) And though the crowd isn’t always tourists, the “locals” aren’t exactly Manhattanites, and a $20 cover on Friday and Saturday does little to change that. But if you’re in the mood for adventure, the Whiskey’s mission to create a space that blends “a chic and sexy nightspot with a soothing mix of intimacy and action” leaves plenty of dark corners to be explored.
