Wolf & Deer:
While the name may be in honor of the partners’ two infant sons, this much-needed wine and cocktail bar set to open soon in kid-centric Park Slope is anything but juvenile. A long, horseshoe bar dominates the upscale-but-earthy space, encouraging interaction between bar patrons sipping on herb-infused cocktails, a sophisticated selection of wine and several local brews (poured out of a copper tap, handmade—along with the rest of the bar's unique fixtures—by partner Daniel Bailey of Hard Decor). Drinks will be complimented by punchy small plates like caviar-topped deviled eggs and apple walnut fennel salad. If you’re craving the intimate type of place where everybody knows your name, it’s best to establish your spot at Wolf and Deer in the coming months—before the crowd storming in for events at Atlantic Yards gets wind of this little gem.
