Wyne A Bit: A simple, cozy neighborhood wine bar, Wyne a Bit is refreshingly non-pretentious, forgoing the typical North Brooklyn urban rustic décor and expensive Southern fare for a wide selection of wines, craft beers and casual Franco-Italian dishes. Sink into the cushy benches lined with pillows to sip a glass of Pinot Noir amidst the soft sounds of reggae and jazz, and it’s immediately apparent that Wyne a Bit moves at a more relaxing pace than other Brooklyn bars. In fact, owner Mustafa Albarati wanted to share his passion for wine with Greenpoint precisely because it still has “that neighborhood feel.” With almost 50 wine varieties (which rotate by season) at an average of $8 a glass, there are plenty of affordable options for imbibing. The menu offers casual inexpensive fare, including paninis, sweet and savory crepes (like the warm and filling chicken and asparagus crepe with chipotle aoli, $8) and a delicious bruschetta selection ($6 for three, try the pesto). With live music on Thursdays and Fridays and a killer happy hour (two-for-one glasses every day from 5-7pm), Wyne A Bit is perfectly positioned to become a Greenpoint staple.
