Yaffa Cafe:
Part of the fun of living in the city that never sleeps is making the rounds of the places that stay open 24 hours. An East Village mainstay, Yaffa Café has been harboring thirsty clubbers, night-crawlers, hungry punks, and drunken NYU grads looking for a little adventure for over 20 years. Maybe it’s their carrot ginger dressing, the chic garage-sale décor (velvet portraits, nude table-top prints, and tiger-print wallpaper), or the complimentary Yaffa condoms that has them coming back again and again. (It’s the condoms.) Yaffa recently expanded their backyard dining area to accommodate the throes of even-keeled out-of-towners and buttoned-up residents who have moved into the neighborhood—it’s the perfect spot to dine on stir fry or other quick snacks on a starry night, and a nice alternative to getting your rubbers at Duane Reade.
I have been going to Yaffa for over 10 years. Place is always amazing, food is always delicious, decor never gets boring. Viva Yaffa!

This place is the one of the better 24hr restaurants in the city, it’s a great place to recover from a late night drinking and dancing. The food is not amazing, but for reasonable prices and large portions, the total adds up to amazing. Their sandwiches are large and you can chose from many different cheeses, and bread. Pasta dishes are large as well and come with a salad. Not the greatest of a wine or beer selection, but if you are like me at 5am after hours of drinking, water works fairly well. The staff is friendly and professional but with a laid back attitude, pretty amazing how at 5am, the staff at Yaffa’s still smiles at their costumers.
