Yerba Buena Perry Street: Yerba Buena is, essentially, Spanish for "good herb." Meanwhile, Perry is the Spanish word for "sequel.” OK, OK, Perry eludes to the restaurant’s location at the very beginning of the Greenwich Village street by the same name. For fans of the original eatery on Aveninda A, the good news is that this sequel is certainly equal, if a bit different looking. Visually, the most striking elements are the blindingly white bar and the occasional green wall, so if you're on a date, come prepared with other potential topics of conversation. Alternatively, you could just start lubing said date up with one of the (blindingly white) bar's selection of rum cocktails—the Rumble ($12), made with freshly muddled blackberry, is a winner. If, however, you’re in the mood for some yerbabuena at Yerba Buena (or something other than rum), the Mezcal Maid ($12) is one of three refreshing drinks made with the titular herb. As for the menu, it certainly features some comida buena—we're pretty sure we could eat an entire bucket of the guacamole ($10), and the crunchy Croquetes de Quiejo ($10) were like jalapeno poppers for food snobs. All in all, a good new spot for some buenas tardes.
