Zarela:
Zarela proves that it’s a different party altogether once tequila is introduced. Pooling from nearly 50 different brands, count the sips it takes to convince these posh Upper East Siders to start dancing with the piñatas hanging from the ceiling. A harp and guitar strum live, so when the drinks turn the floor into a waterbed, you’re free to call it the two-step. This cantina is known for frozen margaritas (strong enough to cross your eyes), so a beer tap is superfluous. But if you’re not drawn to the worm, they have 10 indigenous beers in bottles, though the three amigos behind the bar might take offense. Whatever your poison, proactively reach for an extra napkin as the salsa is strong enough to make your nose run.
Not only was the service horrible, they never cleared any of the plates, they forgot my food and then reassured me that it "wasnt my fault", but a minimum amount per person for food when we had all already ordered a bunch of appetizers and tons of $13 margaritas??!! There wasn't enough tequila in the whole place to make a night at Zarela's a fun one.

I agree. Something about the food made me sick as well (either the way it was made or how it was cooked), and the alcohol seemed to be very cheap.

Got sick here... but the margaritas are BRUTAL... so it could have been the tequila that did it.. and not the food... just be careful here.
